Have you ever put on a lip gloss and thought: "Damn...I should call them"?
Get your head out of the gutter and put on the lip gloss. Don't call them.
Either way, that sticky feeling comes from the lovely ingredient of Polybutene! It's one of our favorite ingredients that we use in our Ambrosia Lip Polish. It keeps the formula thick and shiny.
When used too much without any thinner, it can get obnoxiously sticky and hard to wear. It's the main reason why your hair gets stuck in your lip gloss when you have it on. If the polybutene is thinned out with an oil, it becomes this smooth, nourishing texture that we know in love in our formula. It makes the oils thicker, so it's not super slick, but you can still add a higher oil to polybutene ratio, so you can have your desired texture.
It's a great binding agent, too! So, because it's super sticky, it can hold all of the ingredients together that you need it to. Any mica and liquid pigments hold up quite well in it, but if you have too much oil, prepare for it to sink to the bottom of the tube.
It's a great emollient! It moisturizes as well as it binds. So, because this product targets oils over water, it can thicken the lipids in our skin and become a moisturizing agent. That's why your lips look and feel so shiny, kissable and juicy when you have gloss on.
It's a non-comedogenic ingredient, so it won't clog pores or make your skin sensitive. There's no real side effects to using a product with this ingredient other than feeling good in your own skin!
That's our transparency on this transparent ingredient!
