Skincare and makeup can be scary when you first start, but it's all about being smart, knowing your skin, and knowing what you're buying that can really help. 

That's how I feel about the ingredients we decided to use in our Ambrosia Lip Polishes and the Ambrosia Lip Polish INTENSE formulas. I hand picked every ingredient that went into designing that formula. I want to break it down for you, so you know what's in what you're putting on your lips!

What are Ambrosia Lip Polishes?

If you're new to the Narcissus Beauty family, you're probably thinking: "What the hell is an Ambrosia Lip Polish?"

Our Ambrosia Lip Polishes are specifically designed to give you a shiny lip look with a gentle color payoff. It's supposed to give a hint of color without overwhelming your look. 

Think of them like a crossover between a lip gloss and a lip oil: all the shine of a lip gloss without the stickiness and all the tint of a lip oil without the slickness. It won't disrupt anything you have under it! 

Named after the Nectar of the Gods in Greek Mythology, your lips will feel like they've just sipped a holy drink after consistent use. It's meant to look beautiful, feel beautiful, and be an anti-aging agent for your lips with ingredients like Rosehip Oil, Jojoba Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin B5, Vitamin E and so much more! 

So, what is Hyaluronic Acid?

Obviously, we are not immortal - we are not walking gods. We age just like everyone else. Our bodies get all shriveled and our skin crinkles. It's a process we don't fully understand, but we know a big part of it is water retention. 

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) retains water. It's an enzyme that you can find in your eyes and joints. It's a lubricant, so it keeps things from drying up. HA has the ability to retain water in our skin, so of course it's going to break down when we get older - just like everything else. 

By adding a HA serum on moisturized skin, you're protecting that moisture and creating a good, bouncy base for your skincare and any makeup applications you're doing. Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell, but Hyaluronic Acid is the powerhouse of the skin. Kinda. 

Ok, so how do I use it in your product?

So, if you use a serum in your skincare, it's going to add more moisture to your skin, right?

By using Hyaluronic Acid in our Ambrosia Lip Polishes, we can use the molecules that come with that to help fill fine lines by retaining moisture. The more moist your lips are, the plumper they look - like how your skin looks bouncy and shiny when it's got proper moisture! 

Your lips can retain water better, fill themselves in with the moisture, and appear more like you got a mini lip injection. That retention almost acts like a temporary anti-aging agent for your lips on TOP of all the other good stuff we put in there. 

Because of the HA adding moisture back in your lips, it can actually help to heal dry, cracked lips in the winter or peeling lips in the summer. She's good for every season. The more you use the product, the less you'll need to worry about a crusty pout!

Conclusion

I said it at the beginning - I'm not a doctor or a scientist, but I do know how things work on my skin. I know that when I put Hyaluronic Acid on my lips in the Ambrosia Lip Polishes that I feel moisturized and plump. 

Sometimes all you need is a little moisture retention to get your lip bounce right on back!
